Sir Keir has led his Labour Party to an enormous victory in this general election , consigning Rishi Sunak's Conservatives to a devastating and historic defeat.
Speaking after his party were confirmed winners, Sir Keir said: “We did it. You campaigned for it, you fought for it, you voted for it, and now it has arrived – change begins now. “And across our country, people will be waking up to the news, relief that a weight has been lifted, a burden finally removed from the shoulders of this great nation.
While Labour remain the only show in town in Liverpool, the Labour leader has angered some in the city over his decision to speak to The S*n newspaper, which is boycotted here because of its shameful lies about the Hillsborough disaster.He will bring his party to the city on Sunday, September 22 as the Labour Conference begins at the Arena and Convention Centre. The conference will continue until Wednesday, September 25.
