SANTA CLARA COUNTY — A single-car crash left one person dead on Interstate 280 early Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision occurred after a male driver — who was traveling southbound on the highway — lost control of his vehicle and hit the concrete lane divider south of El Monte Road in Los Altos Hills. Authorities were notified of the crash at 3:35 am, and the driver was soon pronounced dead on the scene.The cause of the crash was not immediately known. The driver’s identity was withheld pending confirmation and notification of his next of kin.
