KUALA LUMPUR – A Singaporean ringleader of a “swingers” syndicate in Malaysia, which organised group sex events for its 147,000 subscribers or “clients”, was among 36 people nabbed following police raids this week.
Following surveillance and intelligence gathering efforts in June, the Royal Malaysia Police’s Criminal Investigation Department , along with other agencies including the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission, raided a condominium in Mont Kiara at about 8.30pm on Aug 25. “The youngest person nabbed was a 19-year-old woman,” he said, adding that the woman was hired by the syndicate as a swingers event co-host, as she had previously frequented their other events.
Besides paying the RM388 subscriber’s fee, each client would be charged RM400 if they attended any sex-related event organised by the syndicate. “It would cost another RM350 if they came with a partner,” he said.
