On the first day of the mandatory Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) for foreign vehicles entering Malaysia, Singapore-registered cars faced no issues despite some lacking the permit or RFID tag. Meanwhile, many Singaporeans queued at the Danga Bay VEP centre in Johor Bahru to obtain their VEP tags.

Singapore -registered cars faced no issues entering Malaysia on the first day an entry permit for foreign vehicles came into effect. This is even though not all the vehicles had the permit or the accompanying RFID tag. Meanwhile at Danga Bay VEP centre in Johor Bahru, many Singapore ans were in line to try to finally get their VEP tags. Four days ago, Malaysia said foreign cars without the VEP would still be allowed to enter the country without penalty even past the deadline.
