This week MoneywebNOW looked at the merits of fixed income, the Transaction Capital AGM and more.

The JSE is doing an index harmonisation process that will be effective at the open on Monday 18 March. I spoke with Michael Dodd, senior fund analyst at Morningstar South Africa about the history of benchmarks, what brought about the changes and what stocks and sectors will be impacted.At the start of the year expectations where for six US rate cuts in 2024, now expectations are for three, meaning higher rates for longer.

The Transaction Capital AGM was last week, all 22 minutes of it. I spoke with an unhappy Steven Beattie of Steven Beattie Tuition who attended and did not have his questions answered. We also spoke of the role and legal requirements of AGMs and benefits of hybrid events.As rates remain elevated, I spoke with Scott Cooper from Marriott about the impact on businesses as interest costs are rising.
