KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film announced the nominees for the 2024 Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards to be held on 20 July. The awards ceremony is set to take place on 20 July. The Simon Mabhunu Sabela awards recognise outstanding achievement and excellence within the South African film and television industry, focusing on KwaZulu-Natal. The nominees include actors, producers, directors, and various film and television technicians.
This year there is a new public participation category, focusing on reality TV. The public can engage in the nomination and judging process through social media public voting system, entries are currently open until 28 June. This year’s nominees reflect the remarkable journey and significant contributions of the country’s Film and Television industry, inspired by visionaries like Simon Mabhunu Sabela, whose pioneering efforts have shaped South African entertainment for generations.on behalf of the Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs
