The six will next appear in court in December

Six protestors charged over the invasion of Silverstone Racetrack during the British Grand Prix in July have pleaded not guilty to causing public nuisance at a Northampton court. Activists from Just Stop Oil sat down on the track after the race was red flagged following a crash.

After entering not guilty pleas to charges of conspiring with others to cause a public nuisance and causing a public nuisance, protestors will now face a trial before a jury in the New Year. Whilst four of the group were released on bail, two remain in custody.All six were charged with conspiracy to cause public nuisance over the incident during the British GP on July 3.

Just Stop Oil, a climate activist group who wants the government to stop licensing new new fossil production, had already claimed responsibility.
