After recent news of Silk: Spider Society's development, new fan art imagines To All the Boys star Lana Condor as the titular hero. Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, the character of Cindy Moon/Silk was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man comics in 2014 and is known for having powers comparable to Peter Parker's. Cindy Moon briefly appeared in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War, though only as a classmate, and was portrayed by Tiffany Espensen.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY One artist, with the username clements.ink, is giving fans an idea of what Lana Condor could look like in the role of Silk. In the photos shared on Instagram, the actress is imagined in the hero's familiar black and white costume and is shown hanging from a web, similar to how Parker is often portrayed.
Similar to how the MCU expanded onto Disney+, Sony's development of Silk: Spider Society as a television series could lead to more content within its growing superhero universe. Airing on MGM+ and Amazon Prime, it will be interesting to see if any potential success results in crossovers between more Spider-Man shows and films such as Venom, Kraven the Hunter, Madame Web, and others.
There seems to be a lot of excitement for Silk's introduction in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, and audiences are eager to discover who will play the hero. If the role is recast, there are several talented actresses fans would like to see tackle the character, with Condor among them. Something worth pointing out is that Moon is Korean American, and with the importance of representation, that could be one factor that possibly prevents her from being cast.
