Through a web of companies, Maumela and his cousin scored R36 million in trade from the East Rand hospital in a period spanning only weeks – the transactions among more than a thousand now under investigation by Special Investigating Unit . News24 can also reveal that the businessman’s links to the Union Buildings run deeper, with ties to Ramaphosa’s right-hand - principal political advisor Bejani Chauke.
