Absolutely vile behaviour

Police are investigating after the Star of David was scratched into Muslim-owned cars on a residential street in Lancaster overnight.

The local, who wishes not to be named, usually uses his driveway and in view of his Ring doorbell camera - but had parked on the road while relatives were in town. The family are unsure of who is responsible for the act but are keen to find any leads. They said: "It seems to be a pattern in Lancaster and undertaken by a small group of individuals. Every time it's happened, it's on Muslim-owned property.

Over the weekend, the same symbol was etched onto the car parked in the Bowerham Road area. According to residents, two other cars, also owned by Muslims, saw the symbol scratched onto the paintwork on the same night. Locals told LancsLive Bowerham Road is a "peaceful, and nice area." They added: "Someone is trying to stoke up fire by inscribing a Jewish religious symbol on Muslim owned property. It's well known that the Palestine-Israel conflict has been ongoing for many years and this seems like a mindless attempt at creating tension between the two communities at a local level."
