Organizers of the professional tourney — which boasts alumni such as Bianca Andreescu and Maria Sharapova — have come to Burnaby with a pitch to hold the tournament at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex and Christine Sinclair Community Centre this summer.
An initial pitch to Burnaby city council met with some reluctance, but Burnaby city staff will now study the cost and feasibility of the project and report back to council as soon as possible.In the meantime, we asked you, our readers, what you thought — and so far, we have a couple of short-but-succinct answers in support of the idea:
