A notice inside the sandwich shop said the closure is due to 'unforeseen circumstances'
Philpotts on Exchange Flags will permanently close its doors this Friday, March 8. The sandwich chain first opened on Exchange Flags in 1999, and has become known for the breakfast and lunches it serves to those working in Liverpool's business district.
The news was announced to customers via a notice put up inside the Exchange Flags shop. The notice reads: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, sadly we will be closing our doors permanently from Friday 8 March 2024. The ECHO previously reported on challenges facing businesses on Exchange Flags where footfall had fallen following the pandemic, with people now choosing to work from home and only travelling into the office on certain days.
