Though no one was hurt, Jermiah Sellers is charged with attempted homicide for the Jan. 26 incident on West Louther Street.

This is the area on West Louther Street where Carlisle police say a 16-year-old teen shot at and struck a passing vehicle on Jan. 26. No one was hurt, but Jermiah Sellers is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.A former Carlisle High School student was ordered to face trial on attempted homicide and other charges stemming from a daytime shooting in the borough’s downtown earlier this winter.

Sellers, 16, was led back to Cumberland County Prison, where he is being held without bail as the case progresses. Family members who attended the hearing declined comment after the hearing. Shortly after the grandson returned to her car, and they started to drive past the store on West Louther Street, Spraglin said, she heard a loud boom and she told her grandson she thought she hit something. She said she stopped her SUV to check the tires and didn’t see any signs of a problem, so she got back in and drove away from the scene. Spraglin also stated, under cross-examination, that she never saw anything noticeable outside her car at the time of the incident that grabbed her attention.

After locating Spraglin’s vehicle on video from Carlisle’s street camera network, police Sgt. Andrew Van Volkenburg said he noticed, simultaneously, a man in a black coat moving through the camera’s field of view, getting on a red mountain bike and riding away. Mennor said that in-store footage of the suspect matched to photos police already had on file of Sellers, whom they knew lived in the West Penn Stret duplex.Officers conceded under cross-examination by public defender Andrea Haynes that none of the footage shows the actual shooting, though they said the suspected gunman can be seen at one point raising his arm as if pointing in the direction of Spraglin’s car as it passed east of the store.
