Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Shonen Jump magazine found its latest and greatest in September 2023, when the magazine's latest hit, Kagurabachi, started serializing. However, this success is owed to another of their series that not only elevated the magazine to incredible heights but also permanently altered the landscape of anime and manga.
That is when he revealed that the creator of Kagurabachi's main inspiration was Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series. He is also influenced by Chainsaw Man, Ajin: Demi Human and Attack On Titan, but he grew up on Naruto and still influences his work. Kagurabachi chapter 19 is titled "Knight Of Darkness", drawing clear comparisons to Batman's nickname as the Dark Knight.
Kagurabachi's setting is also very peculiar, combining traditional Japanese architecture with modern aspects such as cars, suits and weapons. This perfectly describes Hokazono's influences, being a mix of both Japanese and foreign media. Furthermore, the cultural aspect of the series was also inspired by the hit video game, Ghost Of Tsukishima, an adventure game set in the 1200s Japan.
