The now-Bayern Munich manager was relieved of his duties in September 2022 following an apparent fallout with Blues co-owner Todd Boehly.

It was reported at the time that Tuchel and Boehly had differences over the club's transfer strategy, and over how often there should be communication between those in the boardroom and the head coach. Tuchel's departure came as a surprise to many given his UEFA Champions League triumph with the team in 2021, but a new report seems to have shed new light on Boehly's decision to replace the ex-Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss., an incident during Chelsea's 2-1 win over West Ham United in the Premier League in September last year soured relations between Tuchel and the American.

It is believed the German tactician denied Boehly and some guests of his entry into the team's dressing room during the half-time interval at Stamford Bridge, with the match level at the break. Boehly and his guests, some of whom were said to be children, were then reportedly forced to return to their seats ahead of the second half, with Tuchel being dismissed just days later.
