Erik ten Hag claimed he had left Jadon Sancho out of the Manchester United squad for the trip to Arsenal because of his performances in training
Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has admitted he was surprised to see Erik ten Hag publicly addressing his motive for leaving Jadon Sancho out of the matchday squad against Arsenal.
The England international took to social media later that evening to dispute the comments, claiming he had been made a ‘scapegoat’ and that there were ‘other reasons’ for his omission that he was not willing to discuss.MEN Sport revealed on Monday that Ten Hag stood by his comments. It remains to be seen whether disciplinary action will be taken following Sancho’s outburst.
“Now, with social media, people are going to have their say on what it’s all about so it just brings more hype on the situation. I’m surprised that’s happened but he must have his reasons.”
