There are no current plans
Online fast fashion retailer Shein has been popping up in cities around the UK over the last few weeks. The Chinese brand is known for its super-cheap clothing for men, women and children and as well as being a hit with Gen Z it has attracted a bit of a celebrity following.
The recent launch of a pop-up in Birmingham, featuring statement partywear, spring staples and new-in swimwear, saw Danielle Lloyd and Love Island stars Kendall Rae Knight and Liberty Poole attend. There have also been pop-ups in Bristol and Cardiff to the delight of fashionistas. At the opening of its new headquarters in Dublin this week Shein revealed there would be roughly 30 pop-ups across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2023. However, it's too soon to get your hopes up in Nottingham.A spokeswoman for the brand said: "We don’t have any pop-ups planned in Nottingham at the moment, but Shein is always on the look-out for potential exciting venues to host our pop-ups.
Not everyone's a fan though. The company has been branded unethical. Last year Channel Four's documentary Inside the Shein Machine: Untold exposed long working hours, poor pay, fines for mistakes and a "culture of design theft”. Shein responded by saying: "We are extremely concerned by the claims presented by Channel 4, which would violate the Code of Conduct agreed to by every Shein supplier."
