Denmark international Phllip Billing has slipped down in the pecking order at Bournemouth
It remains to be seen whether Leeds United will strengthen their midfield options this week. The Whites could turn their attentions to Bournemouth's Phllip Billing after seeing a £13m turned down for Sheffield United star Gus Hamer.
Danish international Billing joined Bournemouth for a reported £15m fee from Huddersfield Town in 2019. The 28-year-old, who has played 143 times in the Premier League, has three years left on his Bournemouth contract. He featured as a substitute in their opening-day draw at Nottingham Forest. Billing is a ball-playing midfielder. The 28-year-old prefers to be deployed in advanced areas but can do a job in a deeper role if required.
Standing at 6ft 6ins tall, Billing would give United more of a physical presence in the middle of the park. Boss Daniel Farke currently has Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, Joe Rothwell and youngster Charlie Crew to choose from in the centre.
