Nearly seven years after the tragedy, a memorial to the lives of four men lost in a boating accident off St. John’s harbour will be unveiled this afternoon in Shea Heights.

Four men from Shea Heights—Eugene Walsh, his son Keith Walsh and grandson Keith Walsh Junior lost their lives, along with family friend Billy Humby while retrieving fishing gear in rough and windy conditions in September of 2016.Two of the four men lost were never recovered, something Jessie Wilkins says still resonates to this day.He says the money was raised in a mere six weeks. He calls the monument “a great part of the community.
