“We’re getting a glimpse into a part of the Marvel universe we never see,” says series star Tatiana Maslany , who plays the titular green superhero also known as Jennifer Walters., Walters is drafted into the MCU after her cousin Bruce Banner accidentally passes on some of his super-powered blood following a car crash. She goes from being a corporate legal eagle to a lawyer who fights crime and specializes in superhuman-oriented cases.“We focus on the more mundane, day-to-day things.
“All the MCU actors who appear on this show were willing to play in this environment, which is a different tone from most of the other pieces that they’ve been in,” the Saskatchewan native says. “No, it invariably cannot. A woman would not be allowed to be a superhero without something happening to her,” the Emmy-winning actress says with a laugh. “That sense of people being threatened by her presence — whether she’s superheroing or just existing — is a threat. So that certainly will be something that we navigate later. Emotionally, internally, the episodes get really personal and, at the same time, massive.
