Sharks captain Joe Pavelski will be out of the lineup 'a little longer than day to day' with a lower-body injury.
Head coach Peter DeBoer announced the injury after the Sharks’ 7-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, saying Pavelski would be out “a little longer than day to day,” according to Kevin Kurz ofPavelski out with a lower body injury. DeBoer says he would call it “a little longer than day to day.” Not good news.It’s unclear when Pavelski suffered the injury but he didn’t play in Monday’s game.
The 34-year-old is having another strong offensive season, and had yet to miss a game before Monday. In 72 games, he has 37 goals and 63 assists, putting him one goal away from tying his career-high set in 2013-14. Pavelski is also currently set to become an unrestricted free agent in July. The Sharks have nine games left in the regular season and will officially clinch a playoff spot if they earn with one more point in the standings.
