San Jose Sharks’ Russian-born players appreciated Mike Grier’s unifying comments Thursday about planned trip to Prague for Global Series games.
SAN JOSE – Sharks general manager Mike Grier’s unifying message with regards to potential visa issues for Russians entering the Czech Republic next month was heard loud and clear inside the team’s dressing room – especially by some of the players who would be affected.
Regardless, Grier said the Sharks wouldn’t leave any player behind, adding, “either we all go or no one goes.” The Sharks have four Russian-born players at training camp. Winger Alexander Barabanov’s place on the roster is secure, while Svechnikov, rookie forward Danil Gushchin, and defenseman Artemi Kniazev are competing for the precious few roster spots available.
