Veteran prop Trevor Nyakane has been included in the Sharks lineup to tackle the Pumas in round 5 of the 2024 Currie Cup at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

Head coach JP Pietersen has welcomed back two-time Springbok world champion Nyakane, who replaces Mawande Mdanda at tighthead for the trip to Nelspruit.

After bringing through numerous youngsters over the past month, Pietersen has named just one debutant – flyhalf Chris Horak – as cover off the bench.The Sharks have taken confidence from last week’s victory over the Lions, their first in this year’s edition of rugby’s oldest competition.
