Gov. Josh Shapiro's Secretary of Administration Neil Weaver, shown here speaking at a news conference last month with the governor at his side, announced a change to the state's teleworking policy that will require about 2,300 state government employees to return to the office at least three days a week.

Republican lawmakers have been calling for state employees to return to the office for nearly the past two years. They said having workers work from home has impacted the quality of service Pennsylvanians receive from their state government and they have questioned its impact on worker productivity.
