Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile's form dipped when he appeared to lose his matchsticks against Pirates, says fans.
Local football fans have been discussing the possibility thatstriker Peter Shalulile may have lost his goal-scoring ability since ‘losing his matchsticks’.
The referee collected them before throwing them out of the pitch. Since then, Shalulile has found it difficult to score goals. He went into the Africa Cup of Nations as Namibia’s top player but failed to score a single goal. Known for many years as a clinical striker, lately, he has missed obvious goal-scoring chances.His goal-scoring drought eventually ended in a match against TS Galaxy, where he scored a brace.
“I am very proud of him showing that mentality but I’m more proud of this football team. When I say to you they are good human beings this is exactly what I mean. They sacrifice the penalty and say let’s give it to Peter,” Mokwena added.
