He also cautioned drivers to avoid flooded areas and advised residents in informal settlements to evacuate if instructed to do so. “However, if you are to be driving in areas which are flooded make sure not to drive into rivers that are flowing and keep a distance that is safe on the roads. And if you are in informal settlements and are told to vacate the area, rather listen,” says Thobela.
