. Main threats with the storms are hail larger than 2 inches and wind gusts over 60 mph, the weather service said. Shortly before 6:30 p.m., the national weather service tweeted that storms west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area are “mostly progressing north,” but added that the thunderstorms could move east.
Dallas and Tarrant counties were not under a severe thunderstorm watch as of 7:30 p.m., but the national weather service warned lightning strikes were recorded east of the line of storms.
