“Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and torrential rain,” the alert stated. The agency said hazards could include heavy downpours of rainfall of 50 millimetres, or two inches, to 75 millimetres, or three inches, and gusts of wind of 70 km/h to 90 km/h.
