Migrants on an inflatable dinghy attempt to cross the English Channel to reach Britain, on the beach of the Slack dunes in Wimereux, France, on 4 September The deaths occurred in the commune of Ambleteuse, according to French officials.
French authorities said they rescued around 200 people off the coast of Calais over a 24-hour period between Friday and Saturday night.Regional prefect Jacques Billant is scheduled to hold a press conference at 10:00 local time . Eight boats carrying 412 migrants have arrived in the UK over the past seven days, with the majority arriving on 7 September.
