No one was injured in the fire that happened at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at an apartment building on Yorktown Lane near Revere Lane, the release says. Officials say smoke could be seen blocks away and the first engine that arrived at the building reported heavy fire conditions. Firefighters were able to quickly control the blaze, but not before severe damage was caused.
Fire damage is estimated to be around $150,000 as it destroyed one apartment and caused severe smoke and heat to three other units, the release says.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
