Seven candidates prepare for first official UCP leadership debate Wednesday abpoli

A Leger poll released last week, based on members of the public who identify as UCP supporters, indicated there’s a tight race between former Wildrose Party leaders Danielle Smith and Brian Jean, at 22 per cent and 20 per cent support respectively, with former finance minister Travis Toews the only other candidate receiving considerable support, at 15 per cent.

The next leader of the UCP will be elected Oct. 6. He or she will replace Premier Jason Kenney, who is resigning after receiving only 51 per cent support at a leadership review earlier this year.Share this Story:
