Setlhodi: Khune Can Coach Chiefs

Khune has seen his contract with Chiefs finish at the end of June, while indications are that the Soweto giants have had no plans about offering him a new deal as a player. As Chiefs travelled to Turkey last week for their pre-season under the newly appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi and his new look technical team, Khune has been left behind, which has led to questions being asked about his future.
Chiefs’ goalkeeping legend Joseph ‘Banks’ Setlhodi believes that Chiefs could benefit from using Khune’s services in a different role if he were to stop playing. “Itumeleng Khune is an asset of Kaizer Chiefs. He is a legend of the club. Khune can a play a big role in motivating other players at Kaizer Chiefs. Khune can be a good coach and I’m not talking about just the goalkeeping department,” said Setlhodi, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.“Being a goalkeeper for so many years, you can get the experience of coaching because it’s something that you have been doing anyway, shouting all those instructions to the other players, that’s coaching.
