He added that there is a continued chance of further warnings as the weather is monitored, with some clouds and isolated afternoon showers also possible in western regions, particularly the coasts and the north-west.advised that nighttime records could be broken as well, with warm overnight temperatures expected to continue over the next few days, particularly in the south.

Both those facts could change this week, most likely in southern parts of the UK, the Met Office said on Thursday.The sunshine should continue at first through Sunday and into next week, however the Met Office warns that more unsettled weather could soon be expected, with a gradual cooling off from the west and north-west accompanied by showers or longer spells of rain developing.

Overnight mist and fog lasting until mid-morning could be seen, particularly in the south, while light to moderate winds are expected. Some windier spells could also bring with them the chance of gales in the north at times.there are indications that the two-week period from 22 September to 6 October could see an increased probability of high pressure than is typical for the time of year, which would allow for drier than average conditions.

When the atmospheric pressure increases over any certain area, it means that air will fall, becoming more compressed and increasing in temperature.
