Sephora is suspending all in-store beauty services amidst coronavirus.

In response to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Sephora stores are instituting changes. Beginning immediately, Sephora stores across the United States are suspending all paid in-store services. The change impacts offerings including makeup applications done by store employees, skin care services, and classes, along with other operational changes.

On March 11, Sephora announced the suspension of these services, with Allure reporting that the brand addressed the decision in a statement."As a precautionary measure, and for the welfare and safety of our clients and employees, we are suspending all paid in-store services, makeup, and skin-care applications, and classes until further notice.

In addition to the temporary cancellation of in-store beauty services, the company is making changes to its in-store customer experience. Sephora is now using a hospital grade disinfectant on makeup testers throughout the store. Additionally, every store will increase the availability of hand sanitizers, undergo a weekly"deep cleanse," and the company has postponed Sephohira, an annual beauty gathering.

Ulta has also announced similar measures, with a report on its site noting that some in-store services might be unavailable. The company also implemented"increased sanitization measures." Additionally, those that wish to use a tester will now be required to ask an associate for assistance. Though both stores have addressed customer concern regarding the virus with these measures, some on social media do not feel that it's enough. Twitter users have since asked Sephora to remove testing products, Business Insider reports. Sephora has not yet responded, but as the company continues to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, it's possible that things could change.
