The defence in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial revealed that it intends to subpoena singer and Meyiwa's former girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.

This was revealed by defence lawyer for accused 2 advocate Thulani Mngomezulu as he cross-examined Sergeant Batho Mogola at theAs previously reported by, Meyiwa was shot dead on 26 October 2014 at the home of his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus, Gauteng in what was initially thought to be a botched robbery.
In August 2023 the State revealed that it does not intend to call Kelly to testify despite being an eyewitness.hitmaker will not be called to testify. However Sello ‘Chicco’ Twala is on the witness list.
