This is something new the fair has added in recent years, and part of a welcome trend to give people a break from our world of constant stimulation, especially those with serious intolerances, including the growing number of Americans on the autism spectrum.
It’s also a story about a faith-based organization focusing on human flourishing rather than divisive culture wars. The fair is partnering with Joni and Friends, a Christian organization founded by quadriplegicin 1979, that works on legal rights and quality of life issues for people living with disabilities. Eareckson Tada served on the National Council on Disability under President Ronald Reagan and helped lead the charge to pass the Americans with Disabilities Act.From noon to 1 p.m.
