Three people have been charged with murder after an elderly couple was found dead in an Abbotsford house.
Back on May 9, just before 10:30 a.m., Abbotsford police officers responded to a house on Arcadian Way and found two deceased adults inside. Police deemed their deaths suspicious and homicide investigators were called in. Police identified the pair as 77-year-old Arnold De Jong and his wife, 76-year-old Joanne De Jong, both of Abbotsford.“Today we are a step closer to finding justice for Mr. and Mrs. De Jong," Serr said of the arrests. "Their senseless murders shook our community to the core."Gurkaran Singh, 20, Abhijeet Singh, 22, and Khushveer Toor, 22, each face two charges of first-degree murder.
“I am grateful for the tireless efforts of IHIT, our AbbyPD Major Crime, Patrol, Forensic Identification and plainclothes teams to secure these charges. I appreciate our community’s support and their trust that we would never rest until those responsible were held accountable,” added Serr. No further details are being released about motive or if the individuals knew the couple.
