Josh Norris has gotten all the opinions he wanted to hear.
The 23-year-old Norris had surgery on the shoulder after playing with Team USA at the 2019 IIHF world junior championship, but GM Pierre Dorion noted this isn’t the same injury. Norris also missed 15 games with a shoulder ailment last season.
If Norris has the surgery, he’ll be out six months regardless. If he doesn’t need a procedure and can get back without having surgery, that is the best route for both sides to take. “Of course, I’m hopeful. I had a good talk with the doctor when I was with him and he felt comfortable with me and so it’s just all about rehabbing it and strengthening it,” Norris said. “I’m definitely hopeful that I’ll be back.”
Dorion said the club hasn’t dealt with this kind injury before. He met with the doctors who did his surgery in 2019.
