Democrats say national groups are giving up on progressive in South Texas race
Sanders is slated to host another rally in Austin that day, joining progressive advocacy groups NextGen America and MoveOn in an effort to mobilize young voters. That event is part of a nine-stop nationwide tour that includes stops in Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. National Democrats have prioritized the other two contests, where incumbent U.S. Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez are fighting for their political lives. Though Vallejo has said she's confident in her ground game, Texas Democrats have accused the national organizations of giving up on her race too early.
