From 10am to 4pm, commuters may be asked to go through metal detectors and have their belongings scanned by X-ray machines under Exercise Station Guard, the Land Transport Authority said in a Facebook post on July 29. LTA added that such exercises happen regularly so that people remain vigilant and ready for any emergencies at Singapore’s transport nodes. The exercises also help commuters familiarise themselves with what to do in such situations.
