SINGAPORE – A security officer allegedly forgot to dispose of a fake improvised explosive device used in a simulation exercise, sparking an investigation after police received a call about the item.
The Singaporean was supposed to dispose of the fake IED after he received a call from the exercise team at about 4.30am on Jan 5, said the police on April 8. The simulation exercise was conducted by a security company. Durendran was later at the guardhouse, where he allegedly made false entries in a record book, indicating that he was at work from 11.30pm on Jan 4 to 4am on Jan 5.
