A 59-year-old security guard was shot during a bank robbery in the Loop Thursday afternoon, Chicago police said.
An “unknown offender” left a bank in the first block of South Wacker Drive about 3 p.m. when the guard confronted the robber, shot the guard in the arm, police said.
That’s when the guard, using his service weapon, returned fire and the robber fled east on Madison Avenue.AdvertisementFBI agents were on the scene, said spokesperson Natalie Symonds.
