Even if Soto is unattainable, the Padres appear almost certain to get some sort of offensive help in trade. They are 1-14 in such games since June 17. There has been a reluctance by players to specifically say a part of their issue is that they have been pressing or trying too hard. But Cronenworth essentially acknowledged that was the case while speaking at the All-Star game.
