The SEC have unveiled their 2024 schedule, featuring the end of divisions, and conference games including Oklahoma and Texas. Each of the new schools received a marquee home game: ◻️ Texas will host Georgia ◻️ Oklahoma will host Alabama
While this is a stopgap, it brings home what the SEC schedule will look like. Instead of divisions, which locked in six opponents per year for teams, it’s a more diverse group of opponents every year. If the SEC stays at an eight-game schedule, everyone would have one permanent opponent and and rotate everyone else.If it goes to a nine-game schedule, everyone would have three permanent opponents.
Auburn and Florida, two longtime rivals prior to the 2000s, are also not playing each other yet. The Gators will not playAlabama and Mississippi State, longtime opponents separated by just under 90 miles, are also not playing each other.
