The Green Lake branch is one of the Seattle Public Library’s historically landmarked buildings and originally opened in 1905.
VIDEO: Green Lake Library set to undergo major renovations, will be closed through 2024SEATTLE — The Seattle Public Library’s Green Lake branch will temporarily close for major renovations, including a comprehensive structural upgrade, starting Feb. 1.Along with the seismic retrofit of the branch, other renovations include improvements to the building’s interior and the installation of a new HVAC system.
Several accessibility improvements are also planned, including adding a new ramp from the sidewalk, a new ADA parking stall, new restrooms and an elevator that will serve both floors of the building.During the closure, library patrons can utilize nearby locations, including the Greenwood, Northgate, Wallingford and University branches.It was last renovated in 2004.
