The National Sea and Rescue Institute (NSRI) said the missing man was from Eastern Cape.

CAPE TOWN - The search for a 20-year-old man who disappeared under the water at Myoli Beach in Sedgefield, Western Cape, continues.Spokesperson Craig Lambinon confirmed that the drowning occurred after he was caught by a rip current in a surf zone on Saturday.

"Despite an extensive search, there remain no signs of the missing man. Police water policing and diving services were activated, and police divers, assisted by local police, NSRI Wilderness, and NSRI lifeguards, are continuing in an ongoing search. Thoughts, care, and compassion are with the family and friends of the missing man in this difficult time."

Lambinon has urged beachgoers to adhere to safety warnings and listen to safety officials deployed at beaches. "While sea currents and rip currents are unpredictable at all times, the concerns are that with the second high tide of the day peaking during the mid-afternoon, between 3:15 pm and 4:30 pm, the outgoing tide may cause sea and rip currents to be stronger than normal. Only swim at beaches protected by lifeguards during lifeguard duty times."

South Africa's Rugby Search Continues: Four Flyhalf Contenders EmergeSouth Africa's Rugby Search Continues: Four Flyhalf Contenders EmergeDespite impressive victories against Scotland, England, and Wales, the Springboks' performance on their recent tour fell short of perfection. While individual brilliance shone through, particularly from Franco Mostert and Pieter-Steph du Toit who were named player of the match and World Rugby Player of the Year respectively, the team struggled with consistency in their lineout, breakdown dominance, handling, and decision-making. The emergence of four strong contenders for the flyhalf position ahead of the 2027 World Cup adds another layer of complexity to the Springboks' quest for optimal performance.
