The NSRI said the man was with a group of friends on a boat on Saturday when he fell overboard, and disappeared under water.
CAPE TOWN - The National Sea Rescue Institute says a search is underway for a 40-year-old man after he reportedly drowned at the Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West.
It’s understood the man fell out of a boat on Saturday near Randburg bridge and disappeared underwater.NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon: "On arrival on the scene following an extensive search, which included NSRI rescue swimmers conducting free dive search efforts, there remains no signs of the missing man.
“Family of the missing man attended at the scene and are being supported by counsellors. Police divers, assisted by NSRI and SRU, are continuing in an ongoing search operation."
