The Blues boss has shared an update on the squad at the start of pre-season
Sean Dyche is keeping his players on edge by refusing to reveal the timing of his infamous Gaffer’s Day. The Blues boss - who refers to the gruelling training ritual as “my day” - has not told the Everton squad when they can expect to be put through their paces as he currently plans to spring it on them as a surprise. The fear of being caught out is causing a stir within the classy confines of the club’s Ireland training base, with rumours swirling within the camp about when it would be.
Alex Iwobi, who completed pre-season with the Blues last summer before a deadline day move to Fulham, responded to the event by taking to social media to simply post : 'See Gaffers Day Yeah… Ain’t For The Weak!' Jack Cork, who went through the experience under Dyche at Burnley, once said of it: 'I’ve never done a session like this at any other club. It’s different but it was really good last year, it helped me settle into the team.
