SDPD arrests suspect, 20, in fatal shooting of homeless man in City Heights [Breaking]
San Diego homicide detectives arrested a 20-year-old man Friday on suspicion that he shot and killed a homeless man early Thursday morning in City Heights.12:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chollas Creek area of City HeightsThe shooting occurred on 50th Street near Wightman Street, where police officers responding to reports of gunfire found Ahmed on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Campbell said in a news release. Paramedics took Ahmed to a hospital, where he died.
Police did not say what may have led up to the shooting. But Campbell said investigators identified Quiroz as the suspected gunman and arrested him around 2:15 p.m. Friday on 50th Street near Sterling Court, a few blocks from where the shooting occurred. Quiroz was booked Friday evening into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail.
