Police launched an investigation in late May into a series of alleged incidents involving two people who were in an intimate relationship.
They say the man violently assaulted the woman, causing injuries to her face and neck. This prompted the Intimate Partner Violence Unit to take over. Investigators found the man on June 5 at a hotel. They say he tried to run away, but was eventually brought into custody with the help of the K9 unit. The man, 46, from Scugog, was charged with assault , uttering threats of death or bodily harm, harassment by means of repeated telecommunications, choking, suffocating or strangling, and publishing an intimate image without consent.Anyone with information can call Detective Constable Armstrong at the Intimate Partner Violence Unit, at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5100.
